    Description

    Childs Miniature Transferware Creamer
    SEAWEED FIBRE
    Staffordshire England c 1840
This is a scarce miniature transferware creamer or milk jug circa 1840, originally part of a complete miniature childs tea set. Transfer printed in a rich and earthy forest green with clear glaze, the pitcher stands 3 inches tall, lobed body with a scalloped rim and fancy molded handle. Well potted, to the standards usually only found in full-size Staffordshire table wares, the jug is decorated a delicate seaweed fibre design.
The creamer is unmarked. The exact pattern and maker name is unknown. Based on the form and style of the blank, I would attribute it to Frances Morley, a pottery maker in the Staffordshire region of England from the period of 1820-1860.
The jug in very good condition -- a tiny old chip on the top rim and no other chips cracks or repairs. Minor manufacturing imperfections, original to the making and typical of the period.  Offered as is, a fabulous little set to display in the finest dollhouse! Children's transferware of this quality is quite scarce and highly sought after.
We have also listed other miniature table wares and tea wares along with other great examples of pearlware and other early children's colorful transferwares this week -- mix and match for a lovely collection. We are always happy to combine postage on multiple purchases.
