    Description

    Childs White Ironstone Teaset
    WHEAT CERES
    Elsmore Forster
    Staffordshire England c186
    0
This is beautiful ironstone child’s tea set dating to c1860. Elegant tall coffee pot or teapot with fine details of wheat, a studied contrast to some of the plain white utilitarian ironstone ceramics of the period. The set is marked with the impressed backstamp of Elsmore Forster a pottery manufactory in Tunstall the Staffordshire region of England. Moulded in the Wheat pattern in the lobed and scalloped Ceres shape.
    The set includes:
Teapot with Lid, 5 inches tall, 5 inches long (tiny kiln flek on edge),
Sugar Box or Biscuit Jar with Lid, 4-1/2 inches tall (spoon dings), and
Cream pitcher or milk jug, 4 inches tall (tiny flek on underside of spout).
As described above, the set is in great condition, especially considering it was played with by generations of children.
    No
chips, cracks, or repairs. The set is finely potted and the
    impressed motif
    was moulded
with great deal of attention to detail. This excellent little tea set, in the hard to come by pattern, is a must-have for any advanced collection.
    Sold as is.
