FROM SAXOPHONE DOT ORG :
The Brilhart "Streamline" model mouthpieces were first manufactured by Arnold Brilhart in 1939, just 5 years after he launched into the mouthpiece business. This model was developed from a set of mathematical principles formulated by Brilhart to give a slightly more focused sound. These mouthpieces are slimmer in overall design and have a slightly smaller throat than the regular Brilhart model. The "Streamline" mouthpiece was initially made in hard rubber. However, by 1941 this model was made almost exclusively from Ebolin or Tonalin. Production of the Streamline model continued through the "Great Neck, NY" phase, as well as the "Carlsbad" model era. Quite often you can see pictures of Charlie Parker playing on a Brilhart Tonalin "Streamline" Alto mouthpiece.
Charecteristics of Stremline:
Brilhart or Designed by Arnold Brilhart stamped on back of barrel
Facing number stamp under Brilhart stamp
Streamline stamped on shank under facing number
Arnold Brilhart Great Neck N.Y. stamped on shank under table (on some models)
Tonalin, Ebolin, or Hard Rubber stamped on shank under table (on some models)
White bite plate on Ebolins and Black bite plate on Tonalins
