Lepidodendron leaf tip fossil, Pennsylvanian age 300 million year old

This is a 6.5" x 4" x 1.5" Pennsylvanian age, 300 million year old fossil showing the delicate leaves a Lepidodendron which was a plant that grew to treelike proportions during the Pennsylvanian age, some 300 million years ago.  Lepidodendron is actually a relative of modern day club moss as can be readily seen in this specimen.  This particular piece shows the leaves as very delicate and detailed imprints of coalified plant material on sandy siltstone.  Excellent detail nicely presented and will make a nice addition to your collection.  This came from a coal mine in Alabama.
