Description

Scarce and highly desirable Historical Staffordshire soup tureen - "Dix Cove on the Gold Coast" - by Enoch Wood from his Shell Border (Irregular Center) series. Circa 1825. Really nice example with good transfer and wonderful dark blue shimmering color. 15" long (from handle to handle); 8" wide; and 10" tall (to top of rose handle). Under-glaze marked on the bottom (also has a collection sticker).
Condition is excellent. There are two faint hairlines in the body which are visible in the interior but don't go through to the outside. No other cracks or chips. Satisfaction Guaranteed.
