Description
This is a 7" x 4" x 1" Pennsylvanian age, 300 million year old fossil fern named Lynginopteris hoeinghausi with compound leaves of the fern imprinted on a sandy siltstone along with some of the fern stems. The imprints show great detail and the original plant material is preserved as coal. Nicely presented and will make a nice addition to your collection. This came from a coal mine in Alabama.
