This is a freakin' huge fossil leaf. It is a monster Platanus nobilis (Sycamore) Leaf and wonderful Davidia antiqua Leaf from the Paleocene of Montana. This Sycamore leaf is extremely large - a full SIX AND A HALF INCHES ACROSS! Both leaves have great detail preserved - the reticulation, venation, and serrations are all clearly seen. The fabulous color and contrast make for a striking display. The beautiful leaf is well showcased on the large plate of shale that also has many leaves preserved on the back side! This is an extremely collectible and displayable fossil Sycamore leaf from an unusual location in Montana - very impressive!
