    Description

Early English Porcelain Childs Cup & Saucer Tea Set
    RIBBON & ROSE
    Bristol England c1820
This is a beautiful childs miniature or dollhouse cup and saucer made in England as part of an early toy tea set. It dates to the early 19th century. The set is decorated overglaze with clusters of roses alternating with hand painted blue ribbon streamers, painted in pink and green with iron red detailing.
The rosette and hand painted streaming ribbon motif is not found in any of the standard reference books about childrens and dolls early ceramic tea sets. However, the form and decoration points to an origin in one of the potteries in Bristol England. The tiny cup and saucer is quite scarce.
The set is in great condition with no chips cracks or repairs. The decoration has very little wear and is free of scratching. A fantastic addition to any collection of early child's and dolls table wares. Sold as is, as shown.
