    Description

Artisan Craftmanship Necklace from Bolivian Andes. Condition is Pre-owned. Antique jewelry from estate.
Each unique link to this necklace depicts a scene from the lives and activities of the Andean highland peoples: llama herding,
weaving the colorful blankets worn as traditional dress, sailing the reed boats on Lake Titicaca, playing the reed flute with mountains
    in the background.
This 18-inch piece is part of the antique jewelry collection from my Mother's estate from mid-1950s when the family lived near La Paz, Bolivia.
As a child, I remember the llamas being driven in herds down our street, going fishing to Lake Titicaca with my Father, hearing the flute music and seeing the colorful results of the textile weaving on the local population. We lived with a view of Mount Illimani in the Andes range, most likely the very same mountain as etched into the necklace scene behind the flute player. The value in this piece of jewelry
is in the faithful rendition of everyday occurences in the Andean highlands.
Shipped with USPS First Class. There is no sales tax charged in Seller's state.
