his one gram [0.03202 Troy Oz.] 24 karat pure [0.999 fine] gold note commemorates the 90th Anniversay of the first appearance of Mickey Mouse. Created by Walt Disney in 1928, Mickey made his first appearance in a short film titled
Plane Crazy.
But it was later that year Mickey made a genuine splash when he whistled his way into the hearts of America in an early sound cartoon,
Steamboat Willie.
Disney had earlier created a character named "Oswald the Lucky Rabbit" but lost control of the character and developed another one - - Mickey Mouse.  With his girlfriend Minnie Mouse and faithful dog Pluto, Mickey has become an international star.

his one gram "Mickey Mouse 90th Anniversary" Gold Note was authorized by the government of the tiny South Pacific Island Nation of Nuie, composed mostly of Polynesian people in 14 villages. The Note was minted by the New Zealand Mint, located in Auckland, New Zealand. [Total Mintage: 10,000.] Calling itself "Minters of the South Pacific," the New Zealand Mint is the only privately owned smelting, gold retrieval and minting company in the nation. The Mickey Mouse Gold Note, like Aurum Notes, is constructed so that pure gold is secured between layers of polyester substrate, which can be burned off in an assay process to retrieve 100% of the gold. The Note is protected in a Bill Sleeve attached to a Golden Life Card with its inside label detailing what the note represents,an idea we called "mini-bios."   A colorfully designed envelope is also provided for easy storing of the Gold Note or for gifting it to a loved one.
